Roman Timbers are dated
News received from Archaeology Company that they have had back the preliminary carbon dates on the timbers sectioned by Ravencroft. One interpretation is that the straight timber frames were early Roman (1st century AD) whilst the posts varied in date from 2nd to 4th century. This is excellent news for our client and we are pleased to have been able to assist in such an unusual projec.
